Celebrating Sled Island’s inaugural winter festival
The inaugural edition of Calgary’s newest winter festival, Bob-Sled took over the Palomino this past week. Thanks to the curation from the team behind Sled Island, Bob-Sled was able to highlight local favourites as well as bring in some phenomenal out of town talent that made trekking outside in January worth facing the freezing cold.
SXSW Day Two Recap: Corridor, Dry Cleaning, Deeper, Desire, Justice, and more
Today was a longer stretch for REVERIE from panels to unofficial showcases to a late night stint at the Elysium for the Italians Do It Better showcase. Don’t worry, we made sure to grab a few bites and stay hydrated in between, but the schedules were picking up speed and we tried our best to stay on top of the action.
Springbreak Boogie at Hotel Vegas in Austin: Lip Critic, Sextile, and Mugger
During the week of SXSW there are ample of unofficial parties taking place across town and leading the charge for 3 days of showcasing was Springbreak Boogie at Hotel Vegas. With bands spread across two stages - one outside and another smaller club-sized stage indoors - it was a day for the punks to get out their rebel yell.
SXSW Day One Recap: Population II, Hot Garbage, Slick Rick, and more
REVERIE has finally landed in Austin and after 16+ hours of flight delays, that wasn’t going to stop us from hitting the ground running at SXSW. Despite the amount of bands dropping out of the official lineup in protest, there’s still music to be heard, on-stage activism to support, and unofficial showcases that continue to blow our minds. While the energy is undoubtedly off with the news the the US Military is a head partner of SXSW, it has ignited powerful conversations on and off the stage - adding to the bustling vibrancy from the bands, artists, and listener’s who occupy the space. What’s sure to be an interesting week, we started off with a face-melting Mothland x M for Montreal showcase and ended the night at Mohawk Outdoor with Peppermint Patti, Bootsy Collins, and the ruler himself Slick Rick.
