Join REVERIE and A League of Their Own for a Screening of Skate Kitchen this September
Join REVERIE at the Globe Cinema on Sept. 10th at 7 p.m. for our screening of Skate Kitchen as part of the curatorial series A League of Their Own Cinema, celebrating films made by women.
We selected Skate Kitchen (2018), directed by Crystal Moselle, for it’s focus on community-building, friendship and excellent soundtrack. Skate Kitchen also boasts multiple women behind the lens, including the film’s writers and composer. We’re also bringing in a mini-market of zine vendors including Rodeo Clown Press, Cat Milk Remedies and Hal Monitor.
You can read the synopsis below and we hope to catch you at the screening!
Camille’s life as a lonely suburban teenager changes dramatically when she befriends a group of girl skateboarders. As she journeys deeper into this raw New York City subculture, she begins to understand the true meaning of friendship as well as her inner self.
